No sound for kubuntu 4.1

I have a labtop Aspire 6920, I just installed the kubuntu 4.1. I have been trying to get the sound to work, dont know what to do. I have the feeling that it has something to do with this computer being a 64 bit system, but i am not quite sure, I have no idea where to begin. I am not getting any sound at all, can anyone help me out?
