Job Progress Reimagined...What happened?

A feature I was really looking forward to was the job progress thing mentioned here:

I thought it was really cool and I haven't seen it (granted I may have missed it due to switching back and forth between kde3 and 4 so many times in the last week that I worry that I broke my kde) but does anyone know if is planned/dropped/whatever?

Quick EDIT: I just remembered that it's up to the individual app to implement this but, still I havent seen this and if it was there, at least one thing I tried would use it... I guess... looking at the api I don't see it immediately so my question stands.
