Sound not working whereas it works under gnome

Hi,

I have an Asus F7SE laptop with Fedora 9 installed, which means I have KDE 4.1. Which is great and beautiful. I love it.

My problem is : The sound card is detected and works great under gnome, but KDE can't issue a single sound. What must I do to use my sound card under KDE ?
It appears (along with Pulseaudio, ESD and Jack and a few other things) in the device list in the Phonon window but, even when it is on top of preferences, I have no sound.

It is strange because when an MP3 is played by Amarok, everything looks normal. Even in the Pulseaudio manager, the equalizer is animated to show the sound volume. But I don't hear anything.

Any tip about how to solve this problem?

So... Anybody did meet the same problem?
Actually I met the issue with a plain old Dell work station.
Is there a Phonon manual anywhere? Or is there a doc about KDE sound management?
Maybe I should have posted this in another part of the forum?

Answering to myself: There IS a doc: http://phonon.kde.org/cms/1032

Looking at it and trying to fix. BRB.
