I'm not big Linux user, except for a fileserver I mainly tinker with it on the side, but when it comes to desktops on it, I've always liked KDE more than Gnome. But there is one thing that I notice immediately, coming from Windows, and it's the mouse sensitivity. It's feels really slippery and unprecise, like it has a constant speed no matter how slightly you move it. And another thing, I really would like to be able to decrease the sensitivity a little more, it's still a bit to fast at the lowest setting with my MX518 at the mid (default) setting.
I dunno how it works in Windows, perhaps it's that "increase accuracy" thing in the control panel. Either way, the feel is superior if you ask me. It's like it is adjusting the sensitivity according to how much you move it. What is it controlling this in a Linux/KDE system? KDE or perhaps Xorg? Or perhaps there are projects already underway?
Oh, and another thing.... Why, oh why, does new windows have to open up in the corners? It's *extremely* annoying, and I still haven't found anywhere to change this behaviour. :-)
