konsole Authentication failure

konsole Authentication failure

Yesterday I installed KDE 4.1.1.

When I try to su in konsole I get this

Password:
su: Authentication failure


When I try passwd I get this

$ passwd
Changing password for oddbjorn.
(current) UNIX password:
passwd: Authentication failure


It seams that I get this error every time I have to type a password in konsole. su and passwd works as they should in other terminals. Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong or how to investigate the problem further?
