Changing desktop shortcut icons in kde4?

Hi,
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how can I change the icon of a shortcut I have made.
i.e in kde 4.1 I have made some shortcuts to apps that I have installed, but the icons are just cogs and there doe's not sime like there is any option to change there icon on there properties.
