KDMTheme is not working

I have KDMTheme installed on a couple of computers but it suddenly seems to have stopped working on both. I keep both these machines up to date regularly. I'm thinking that there may be a bug or conflict with something else that keeps KDMTheme from working. I can install and preview themes, but when it comes to login time, the installed and selected theme simply does not appear, defaulting to whatever the regular login theme manager has set.

Anyone have any idea why KDMTheme would not work, especially when it has been until recently?
