Desktop Activities

I find this feature one of the most useful to my everyday usage of KDE.
Does anyone (developers) know what plans exist for Activities feature?

How to Remove an Activity?

I must admit that I haven't quite figured out the use of these so called "activities".

More importantly, how do I get rid of one's I've 'added'

I'm running KDE4.1 on Ubuntu 8.04. While exploring and fiddling around with KDE4, I clicked the little thingy in the top right corner of the desktep, and clicked "Add Activity". OK, I did it a bunch of times. Now, when I zoom out, I have about 6 'desktops' next to each other. How do I get rid of them again?? I haven't yet seen a "Delete Activity" button... ?(

Please help if anybody knows. Thanks

Even worse, I can't zoom out anymore!

Aaah! It's taking over! :cursing:

I zoomed out and back in on a different Activity, changed the wallpaper, and now the "Zoom Out" option on the top right thingy is GONE! I'm stuck! I can't get back to my original activity/desktop (What exactly is the difference, by the way?)

I'm not sure about 'Zoom out' disappearing - I think it happened to me after updating KDE. Maybe it will return :)

Deleting activity is enabled in development version - I use Unstable repository of openSuse. It has some more cool features.

You can set different plasmoids on each activity - for example a blank one for movies, folderview on work dir, and a general activity with pictures and amarok and stuff. I think it has a lot of potential. I'm a student, and would love to set different use environments for each "activity", i.e. studies, work, movies etc.

Zoom out Issue ---
I use mandriva 2009 and i noticed when the zoom out feature is used twice (2 levels of zoom) the zoom out disappears. Though I doubt if that what you meant i though i should point it out.

Removing activity ---
The first thing you'd want to do is to zoom into you preferred desktop/activity. Next, you zoom out so you can see the other activities. right click on the activities you shuold see "delete desktop" (or something like that).

OO desktop

I have not use this type of interfaces since the OS/2 Workplace Shell, the first OO interface. Activities allow me to have one for regular use, one to use with the projector for lectures, one for dev, one for business. Many other uses will be possible but this is what I am using it now. I have to figure out how can I take advantage of the location of the activities when ther are zoom out.
