Laptop extra buttons in KDE 4.1

Hi all, i have a Dell inspiron 6400 and i'm running kde 4.1. My laptop has some extra buttons, but i don't know how to make them work. WIth KDE 3.5 i made a script like

xmodmap -e 'keycode 176=XF86AudioRaiseVolume'
xmodmap -e 'keycode 174=XF86AudioLowerVolume'
xmodmap -e 'keycode 160=XF86AudioMute'

but it doesn't work anymore. Any suggestion?
