double kde

Hello

I have installed kde 4.1 to my debian 4.0 box
I have to make it experimentall, and i do it from packade.

And so, i have a little problem.

When i start kde, i have TWO bottom panels, and TWO desktop (new one is behind old one)

When i kill kicker, and i kill kdestkop, i have a fine KDE 4.1 plasmoid, and all of that stuff.

But when i kill kicker (from old kde (3.5)) i loose system tray too, and every application that i start that have icons in system tray is working wrong, becouse i dont have system tray working good. System tray from KDE 4.1 is working, but all aplication whant to use old one, that i can see, becouse i kill kicker, where this system tray was putted

i can forget working with kadu, kftpgrabber, skype and other application.

PLEASE HELP

it sounds to me like you should have uninstalled KDE3.5 before installing KDE4.1
I'm no expert, but I personally would uninstall both versions of KDE then install 4.1 again. I know it's a nuisance, but as both versions of KDE cannot be installed (unless you do some serious tweaking before hand - which it doesn't sound like you have) i think the safest way would be to revert back to a clean, KDE-free, system before installing 4.1 again.
One 4.1 is installed, you can reinstall your old KDE3.5 specific applications again and they will run fine (albeit using KDE3.5's theme), just don't install KDE3.5 base.
