[KDE4] Panels

Hello!
I'm getting used to KDE4 - however there are some limitations yet.
The biggest one is with panels:
Is it possible to make them hide or at least allow windows to cover them (even config editing is okay)?
I'm using recent snapshot of KD4 from openSuSE repo.
