KDE4 Crashes on Login

I am currently running Ubuntu and I, prefer KDE to Gnome. So I installed KDE 4 and when I tried to start it up, it crashed... just a plain black screen like you pressed ctrl-alt backspace. And it also played an error noise... can someone help me? ?(
