Kde 4 - Top menu bar / Other issues

I used the top / mac / global menu bar in Kde3. Where has it gone? Have they removed it? I remember that, surfing on the web, I read someone who changed some configuration files and activated it (but it didn't show up well, it was glitchy). Is there a way to do this? I don't care if it is ugly, i only care that it works, because i'm used to this behaviour.
