[KOPETE]Opening chat notification in Kopete causing Ubuntu to crash?

Hey, I'm using Kopete 0.12.7 on Ubuntu 8.04 RC at the moment. Periodically, when I try to open a chat window after receiving a message notification, the computer freezes and then crashes back to the Login screen. Any ideas what the problem might be?

I don't know the solution, but I have experienced the same thing. I think it is a bug w/ the nvidia driver, though don't know for sure. I also have another problem that occurs from time to time where a message will not show up properly and when I switch to another window and then re-focus on the chat window everything redraws properly. Very annoying.
