KDE menu command symbols

KDE 3.5.7 under Mandriva 2008.0:
Looking at the commands for activating OpenOffice components in KDE Menu Editor. They are of the form:
oowriter2.2 %F
Can someone explain what %F means in this context and, if it represents an argument, where is the actual value found?
Thanks
Graeme
