kDE 3.5 won't start

I am trying to run KDE 3.5 runing on HP Pavilion with windows and cygwin. The diplay opens with startx but xsetroot won't let me set it.

$ startkde

startkde: Done.

There is no file called start_kdeinit also when I click on Kdeinit.exe or most of the other K applications in the directory I get this error.

The procedure entry point art_alloc could not be located in the dynamic link library cygart_lgpl_2-2.dll.

I am a newbie who has never had KDE working. I'm getting pissed with all these errors, I thought running kde would be simple enough.

Well I got a new Cygart DLL. I am still having trouble connecting to the X server and the DCOP. I am just trying to run this locally on my Machine. I got KDE to launch by starting X and launching Konsole and Kdesktop, but it usually crashes.
