kdenlive clip monitor playback issue

hi,

i'm hoping someone on this board can shed some light. i'm a relatively new linux user with somewhat limited technical knowledge, and brand new to kdenlive. (i used windows movie maker on my xp system, but i no longer have windows installed on my pc).

anyway, i think i figured out the basics of importing clips into the kdenlive project manager. however, i'm having problems with my clip monitor. i can't play back the video track - when i try, it only plays the audio and a photo still of the first image on the video.

has anyone experienced this issue? is there a patch that i need to install, or am i doing something wrong?
