To-do's which appear on a given date

Hi. I'm new to korganizer so this may be obvious but not to me.

I want to create a new To-Do item that will only appear in the
to-do list on a certain date.

I can give a to-do a start date in the future, but it *immediately*
shows up in the to-do list.

Is there a way to set up a to-do so that it will appear in the to-do
list on a certain date (not before) and then remain until I
check "completed"?
