Fedora 8 with KDE 3.5: Numeric Keypad not recognized

Recently installed Fedora 8 and KDE 3.5.8-19.fc8 after running Fedora 7 several months without problems. Fedora 8 runs quite well except for the numeric keypad section of the keyboard - none of the keys are recognized in KDE with the exception of the Num Lock key.

The numeric keypad section works correctly when running GNOME, but I prefer KDE. This leads me to the question: what do I have to do to get the numeric keypad working in KDE?

I have invoked Control Center -> Peripherals -> Keyboard to no avail. What am I missing?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Found the answer in another forum. Thanks to all who replied.
