Parts of KDE install seem to be missing

The Following has been Posted for Roughly five (5) weeks and no one has posted any reply.

Can someone at least tell me ... Is that because I have an impossible problem that can not be fixed?

Otherwise I have to assume no one cares and I will try something else ... abandon KDE for Gnome or another Distro or (yuch) format and put windows on this PC.

It is not easy learning how to use KDE let alone Linux.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently during the installation, part of Control Center did not get installed.

My monitor goes blank in 30 minutes and I can not change the the timing. It is not the screensaver. I have control over that. But I do not find any way to control the Power Scheme.

I am new to Linux but as best I can tell I am missing the Power App in Control Center. I think the location string would be:

Control Center / Peripherals / monitor / Power

I have the Control Center and it does have Peripherals ...

BUT it does not have Monitor nor Power within that section

Question .. What do I do?

Question .. Is that my problem?

I have researched and I find that I am missing this but can not find anything to tell me how to fix the problem nor if that is the solution. So Now I have two .. is that the problem and it has to be fixed regardless of whether it is or not.

There are other problems and I am starting with this one. I also get an error message saying something is missing when I do the update routine when a change is put out.

Do I have to Uninstall and reinstall KDE?

Which is another problem because the Install instructions for the new 4.0.1 version is a blank page when I go to it.

Thanks for any help to anyone who helps. Frankly Windows is sounding better because I can get help there without begging.
