Kontact, knotes and the desktop

Hi guys

I've noticed that if you create a note in Kontact, it doesn't appear in the Desktop, nor in the Knotes icon tray when clicked. However, if you create a note in the desktop, this does appear in Kontact.
Is this a bug or works as intended? Is there a way to have them 'synced'?
