kdeinit launches kaffeine from konqueror file manager view

As of a week ago, whenever I click on a new folder in Konqueror (in the left hand pane in file viewing mode), kdeinit launches kaffeine. Note, I am NOT clicking on a filename, rather I am clicking on a folder.

How can I retrain Konqueror to just be a file manager? I looked for a configuration file in ~/.kde that referenced kaffeine. I saw that konquerorrc mentioned kaffeine in the section [Open-with settings], so I deleted "kaffeine" from the list and restarted KDE, but saw no change.

Any fresh ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
