KDE4.0.1 Install Problems

Hello Everyone,

I am an Ubuntu user, and I have been trying to get a very minimal install. I installed a bare Ubuntu Command line system and installed the following packages to get a GUI(KDE4.0.1) on it.

In order, top being first, bottom last.

xserver-xorg
nvidia-glx
xfonts-scalable
x-window-system-core
nvidia-kernel-common
kde4base
kdm

When I start it up it shows the kdm login screen. When I log in it shows a blue KDE background with a black terminal, no border, in the top left taking up around 1/9 of the screen. It runs any commands fine, but I cannot close or move it. When I type exit it logs me out.

Any ideas how to get KDE4 to run correctly?

Thanks,

Alex
