Compiz, kde 3.5.8, alt-f1, alt-f2

Hi all,

I've been using kde for a couple of months and for the most part I've been happy except that i cant get alt-f1 or f2 working (main menu and run command respectively). i've seen a number of posts about it, so i know im not the only one. But no one actually seems to have a solution to it as such (there is one about assigning run_command in compiz and so forth, but i couldnt get that working either).

Anyways, after about 5 months of struggling with this i spent the last week just concentrating on it as much as i could and the end result was that i lost my system tray thingy (notification area?) and so i can no longer see kpowersave, klipper and (more importantly) pidgin. I've not really looked too hard at that one and decided to switch back to gnome for the time being.

But, i am very interested in knowing if anyone solved the problem of alt-f1 and f2 with compiz?

(fedora 8 updated, kde 3.5.8, compiz 0.6.2).
