Sound Issues!

Hello,

I have installed KDE 3.5 on Gentoo, and I'm experiencing some sound problems.

The sounds that KDE is supposed to play, for example when I'm switching desktop, or when I minimize, do not play..

Though, when I select to use an external player, such as mplayer, the sounds play perfectly. Even when I run other programs that have sound, such as Wine or mplayer with MP3's for example, they all play fine.

Only when KDE is supposed to play sounds, they don't play!

I've got Alsamixer, and the audio device in KDE Control center is set to Autodetect.

I hope anyone can help me with this problem, and If I did not give enough information I'd be more than happy to reply with the information needed.
