In the few snapshots i have tried the white empty space is there.
I believe it's not finnished or that the user could "add" a new desktop. (thats what i figure it to be. (it could be a big blackspace for what i care)
But there seems to be a design flaw (or maybe to unintuitive fow the average user) how do you zoom back in? (when selcting the same spot (in the tiny area almost to small to see) the only option is to zoom out, which makes the almost to small desktop even smaller!)
Despire the evercrashing and (with my computer) unusable desktopmanager i still waiting eagerly for kde4 to clean out the bugs and shine.
Another way: I have two separate X screens (dual head video card). When I'm zooming out I have wallpapers from both screens on one. Wallpapers take just a part of one screen and the rest of the screen is white (bottom part).
I found my fault to be that I had to screens enabled. 1 for my monitor and the 2nd for my TV. When I edit my Xorg.conf to disable to the second screen, then, KDE4 works fine.
So it seems that in this early stage KDE4 currently won't support dual output where xorg defines 2 screens.
