Hi, I hope there's someone here who can help me with this...
I want to switch to Kopete, coming from trillian, and the main problem is that I've got a heap of logs reaching back to 2004 and I'd like to keep them all, and I'd like to have them close at hand in the kopete log viewer.
First I thougth I could write a converter to parse the trillian xml logs and create new ones for kopete. then I noticed that the xml logs don't reach back as far as the trillian txt logs (I guess I upgraded to pro back then) and the txt logs are impossible to convert because they don't have a clear structure.
So what I wanted to do now was to simply put the whole content of a trillian txt log into the "first message" from a new kopete log. I did that, but it didn't work out correctly. If I create a new kopete log, obeying their structuring rules, and then copy/paste just a small amount of text log, it works, but if I add more and more, it starts to bloat up and it takes a few seconds to load. Even after only a few dozen lines kopete will take too long to display the log and appear frozen. And if I enter the whole log, it will simply ignore it completely and write something like "12:04:24 >" and nothing more.
So how could I get the content of the old logs to be displayed in the kopete log viewer? Any ideas?
Thanks!
