KDE4 and root password-Help!

Hi everyone, I have successfully installed KDE 4 with Kubuntu, however it won't acknowledge my root password. Please someone help me as I want to install the wallpapers for it with Adept.

RE: KDE4 and root password-Help!

Hello, try this:
"resetting" the root/su password. i did it from command line like this:
sudo passwd
then it asks you for a new password and voila! it works as expected.
its as if kde4 "forgets" the password so you have to set the root/su password over again.

RE: KDE4 and root password-Help!

Actually KDE4 seems to require a root account, which is disabled in (K)ubuntu, for security reasons. With

Source code

1
sudo passwd

you enable it. IMHO that's not really a bad thing, as long as your root password is "save". ;-)
