[kopete] icq away messages <-> other clients

Hi there,

I seem to have a problem regarding status messages. I don't know if the problem is with kopete or the clients my contacts are using, but:

I can read the away messages of some of my buddies, but not of the majority of them. I think this is an issue between different icq clients (I'm mostly using icq, so I can't tell about other protocols).

For example my brother is using pidgin 2.2.2 while I use kopete 0.12.2 on kde 3.5.4, and we can't read each other's status messages.

Is this a known/solved issue, or can it be a problem with my setup?
