Printer won't print although detected

Hello, I have this problem that my printer Canon PIXMA iP1000 doesn't print although it is detected by cups (i.e. CUPS detects when my printer goes on/offline). When I send any jobs CUPS will report job completed but the printer did nothing.

I've tried printing with command line lp too but to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

And uh, I got my .ppd file from random search on Google, if that matters.

Also, I've tried other printing systems that came with KDE i.e. LPR/LPRng and Genereic UNIX LPD Print System, same problem, my printer does nothing yet no problem is reported. I highly doubt that my printer is faulty since it prints fine on XP, and I'm tired of rebooting into XP everytime I need to print.
