Metabar missing icons

My konqueror metabar shows no icons as user but as root it does?
Any ideas on how to get my metabar to function properly as user?

WOW a real stumper.
I am not sure this will help, but I am using Kubuntu 7.10 on AMD 64 X2. Have 3G memory and tons of disk space. I don't think it's hardware related just some kind of config issue. Just don't know where or what any pointers would be appreciated.
