SVN Checkout issues

I've been attempting to compile KDE 4 using the instructions found on the Techbase. I've followed every step so far up to the compiling of KDElibs.
My issue right now is that when I run the code to check out KDElibs from SVN, it runs perfectly for some time, and afterwards randomly hangs at a random file. The file changes every time, and it seems to happen with any SVN chackout that I try to make.
When it hangs, all I see is that it's processing a file, and it simply stays there with no change for hours on end (I've actually left it overnight with no change)
I was wondering if maybe this has happened to someone before, or if anyone knows what the issue might be.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Javier

P.S.: I'm very inexperienced in compiling programs and Linux in general. I'm mostly doing this for the sake of learning.

Same here

Just to mention I have the same problem. It happened when checking out qt-copy and kdebase.
There is, however, no need to restart the checkout: just do svn up, fix the error messages by deleting the files mentioned in the messages (or better all the files in that directory) and do svn up again until it succeeds.

Still nobody with an idea what the problem could be?

Cheers,
