KMAIL 1.9.5 export
I know I will get slammed for this, but....
I am new to Linux (new as of 2 hours new). I configured Kmail for my pop mail (just checking it out). I inadverently did not set the option to leave the messages on the server. Well, needless to say, my pop messages were removed from the server. I need to export the mail database from Kmail to (here it comes....) Outlook. Can anyone please provide me with a little help?
Thank you in advance...
The newbie

RE: KMAIL 1.9.5 export
Sorry but it has been a long time since I have used windows.
Kmail can save mail in two formats - the first maildir which is no good for your purposes but the second way mbox might be of use. The mbox format can be used by mozilla thunderbird and I suspect outlook would be able to import mail from thunderbird.
But please go into outlook first and see if the option to import mail from the mbox thunderbird format is available. If so you can create a new folder in kmail, change the default setting from maildir to mbox and then drag the emails in question into this. You would then need to install thunderbird on your windows partition and drag the mbox folder over to the thunderbird mail directory. And then import from there to outlook.
Sorry this method is a bit round the houses. It might be easier just to simply forward the emails in question to yourself using kamil and download them in windows.
RE: KMAIL 1.9.5 export
Awesome, I will try those methods.
Thank you for your help.
