Script showing up as text file in KDE

Dear all
I have the following problem. I have an autorun script in the root folder of a CD. The script has execute permission and is a regular shell-script starting with a hashbang (#!/bin/sh).

When KDE shows the CD folder, the script appears as a text file. On double-clicking, the script doesn't run, but opens up as a text file. There is no such problem in Gnome (where it shows up as a binary icon, and executes correctly on double clicking).

Any help will be very much appreciated. TIA.
