character Driver - characters get grouped together while displaying

Hi ,

When trying to print characters in console though a customised character driver , the characters are getting grouped together in KDE environment :

E.X . echo "taxtaxtaxtax" > /dev/char_device
O/P : ttaaxxtaxtax

The output of the above echo command is fine in GNOME i.e. the output comes as it would come in a normal echo statement.

A code excerpt of writing to char driver is given below :

int ch_D = 20 ; // Key Down code for 't'
int ch_U = 148 ; // Key Up code for 't'

The below statement is called once each for the above statements :

if (tty )
tty_insert_flip_char(tty, (unsigned char) ch, 0);


Any help in finding the cause of the issue would be greatly appreciated .
