Problem kde with quake3 sensibility, pls I need HELP

Hi
i have a big problem for me, now i must use windows for play quake3-excessiveplus, because in linux i have some problems.
I use a config file for q3 with differents sensibility for the mouse for each gun, but with kde if i cange gun the I see always a little lag and the hd start read for a small second, is too slow this "minilag" but It damage my gameplay and for this i must use windows but i dont want this.
I try various distribution, like arch linux and debian, and now I use debian.
I think that this problem is by kde because if i use gnome i dont have this problem, but i like soo much kde and i dont want to leave kde.
I dont know how i can do. How can help me?

nothing can help me? developers?
there is a kio_slave or like this that do interference with the cange mouse sensitive from game?
....now i installed gnome but i dont like it, and only without kde i can play well at quake, and now that come new ati drivers i need to resolve this problem because without kde i cant use linux
