weird mouse problem

Is there any way I can work in kde using keyboard shortcuts only

Not that I am a shortcut fan!!! I have this weird problem that may have been caused by VirtualBox (a message is waiting on their forum)

I can start KDE but the mouse is completely frozen

Luckily I can use the keyboard but only CTL ALT F1 work so that I can at least go in a terminal. (If I only knew what to fix...) But I do not seem to find any way to move around desktops and/or select from the menus on top of the screen.

I am using Feisty 7.04 and on the same computer, on other partitions
I booted from another Feisty 7.04 (that does not have Virtual Box) same problem: mouse frozen
I booted from the Windows XP partition same problem.
I booted from the Fedora 7 Live CD and same problem

In all cases the still arrow mouse pointer appears exactly at the same place. Maybe someone familiar with hardware will have a clue.

My partitions seem to be on order as the rest of the system is functional.

Thanks

Marc
