dcop returns question marks for int'l characters
Hi,
I tore my hair out getting Amarok(and any KDE app) to display Simplified Chinese characters instead of boxes... now for some reason DCOP returns all characters/Kanji as question marks. This behavior prevents lyrics scripts from finding anything useful in Amarok, and I have no idea why it's acting this way. When I was on Fedora the lyrics script was working fine for Chinese lyrics. Just to make sure, I tried a command-line dcop query on another computer which yielded high ascii in place of my question marks.
Example command line:
dcop amarok player artist
Result:
???
Should be:
+õ
And...
dcop amarok player artist | hexdump
Result:
0000000 3f3f 0a3f
0000004
I can understand if this behavior is configurable, but where is the configuration? How do I get DCOP to output in UTF, for example?

Looks like the 3 characters didn't come through here either
