Hi all. I've recently built up a laptop environment and am using KDE. For wireless management, I chose Knetworkmanager, and it's been a bit of a headache. No doubt there's some information I'm missing.
I'm trying to set it up to connect to a variety of wireless networks. The one that use WEP passwords/keys work fine, but one of the ones I need to use is configured for WPA enterprise. When I try to connect to that one, Knetworkmanager starts up, says that it's configuring the device, hangs a while, then reverts back to unconnected state.
So, first, has anybody made this work? If so, can you provide the recipe? Is there any detailed documentation on knetworkmanager? For instance I'm not even sure I'm giving it keys in the right format; I've tried .pem and .p12, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. It would also be nice if there was a way to turn on any level of debug information; there appears to be nothing in any of the logs I've been able to find. I'm fine with debugging linux guts, networks etc, but this thing appears to simply be failing silently and giving no indication of what it was doing that failed.
Finally, perusing this forum, I've seen references to replacements for it, for instance kwlan. Would I have better luck using something like that?
Thanks in advance...
