Unpopulated gnome apps in KDE
Good Day All . . .
I loaded a fresh install of KDE 3.5.6 Kubuntu 7.04 and I updated to 3.5.7. I loaded some gnome apps through apt-get. gthumb and f-spot were two of them. I opened gthumb for the first time and all I got was a window with two lightly coloured squares where the file list and thumbnails should be. f-spot exhibited the same characteristics.
I tried to close gthumb by clicking the close button at the window's top right. After about 10-15 clicks, I got the force closure window with the Terminate option.
Something must not have been loaded. I apt-get'd (?) the ubuntu-desktop which loads the gnome desktop. I opened gnome and both gnome and f-spot worked as normal.
I went to gthumbs' ubuntu package area and confirmed that each of the dependencies (all 20+) were loaded. They were.
It appears that the file(s) that allow gnome apps in KDE to populate is not working properly - a mixed company statement.
My only option now is to remove KDE with a complete re-install.
Does anyone know which KDE app(s) allow gnome apps in KDE to populate???
Thanks.
