Logout progress

I am currently running KDE 3.5.6 on a Gentoo machine (not that that matters) and when I logout it takes a long time sometimes. Probably waiting for a process that is not behaving well to finish. Thing is, I dont know what process it is. I think it would be cool if there was a logout status dialog that would inform you what is happening.... Telling you which applications it is trying to close, which services are being stopped and so forth. I agree for the average user this is a bit much information but it could be set to show basic messages and then detailed messages and the user could decide what he or she wanted. I just think the user should be left in the info loop even at logout... |-)
