changing random colors fonts

I don't know where else to turn so I am writing here in hopes that I can figure out how I can stop Kopete from displaying random colors in the chat window. In my text field the font size and color are correct but when I hit send the size is correct but the color of the font is random. One person I chat with uses a background in MSN so she cannot see my fonts. I am using Ubuntu Gnome (on this machine). At one time I didn't have this problem and for some users that chat with me it is not a problem (I guess because they override my font colors). Anyway, I would like to figure out what the problem is. Can anyone help me. Thank you, Tim
