upgrading to KDE 3.5.6
I have updated my kde from 3.5.5 from sources on Crux-PPC.
It work very well, but the system sounds are disturbed.
When I play an mp3 with Totem the sound is disturbed, but if I use Amarok all is ok.
Please help me!

totem is not part of kde.
You could try to start another windowmanager, like twm or fvwm, and start totem to see if the problem is somewhere in totem/gstreamer or in kde.
if totem plays fine with another windowmanager, check if tweaking the soundsystem of kde in kcontrol helps.

Ah ok
noatun is a frontend of aRts.
System sounds are also played using aRts.
you can configure aRts in kcontrol at [sound and multimedia -> soundserver]

What sound card you have? In amarok, do you use oss or alsa (if set to auto, then try to set to alsa or oss and see which works)?
And disable arts in kde control centre, it is outdated and may cause problems in certain situations.
The server audio that it uses is alsa.
How can I disable arts?
