Missing kicker tool bar on desktop
Hi there!
Our building recently went to Kubuntu/KDE programme for our computers so we are all new to this. One of
our computers is missing the kicker/tool bar on the desktop. Therefore everytime we minimize a screen, it disappears and we can't find it. Can someone please tell us how to put the kicker back on to the desktop?
Thanks.
Are you referring to the whole panel, or just the part of the panel that shows opened windows?
If you're talking about the whole panel, try to check if kicker is running (press Ctrl+Esc to bring up the Processes Table). If it isn't running, press Alt+F2 and type in "kicker".
If you're referring to the part of the panel that shows opened windows, it's called the Taskbar applet. Right-click on the panel, select Add Applet to Panel, and add the Taskbar.
Hope that helps.
OS: Kubuntu 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake) | KDE 3.5.3
Computer Specs: AMD Sempron 2200 1.5Ghz | VIA KM266 Pro 8235 chipset | nVidia GeForce MX 4000 128MB DDR-RAM 32-bit AGP 8x
When I woke up today and checked my system I discovered my tool bar was missing. After several restarts of X and a reboot it's still not there. The entire panel is missing. Logging in as a different user, the panel was there. Kicker is running, I just have no access to the panel itself. Any help would be appreciated.
