Reformatting w/ Linux

Hi.

I'm trying to set up my computer as a linux-only machine, but it currently has Windows XP installed. Is there anything special I should know about reformatting and installing Linux? I have the SUSE Linux 10.1 installation disk with KDE and Gnome options. It came with a Linux starter kit.

If possible, where can I get good information on how to reformat and install Linux? Thanks.

if you want to get rid of all xp parititions, just tell the installation program to use the whole disk.
