How to get display resolution 1680X1050 in KDE
Just bought a 22" monitor with 1680X1050 resolution. Set this up in the configuration program of PCLOS
In KDE Peripherals>display the resolution of 1680X1050 is not listed. Listed is 1600X1200 which is used. The display is not oke due to the high resolution: circles not round, banding in solid background color etc.
In KDE Control Center > Information > X-Server The monitor is listed as 1600X1200
The Xorg.conf file below, it seems to be oke with the right resolution.

In Mandrake 2007 the monitor does not require manual installation, it is detected correctly. However the same issue with KDE occurs: resolution 1600 X 1200.
Is there a work-around ??
Try commenting out the modelines or editing them so they show the right resolution, but I don't think you need the modelines.
Resolution 1680x1050
Thanks for yoyr response
Commenting out did not make any difference.
I have also 915resolution installed, with the correct X and Y res. This loads during boot.
Somehow these setting are getting ignored during the boot process.
