X11 compositing not working on KDE with 2 cards

I've got 2 video cards that do 2 separate x sessions to for one dual monitor xinerama desktop.

Shadows and effects handled by the nvidia cards do not work. In fact the primary screen goes black and the secondary screen is visible but nothing works on it.

I'm not sure if this is an X11 issue or a KDE issue but I thought I'd at least post it.
