Unlock screen by any valid user

I'm looking for an alternative to kdesktop_lock which will allow any valid user/password combination to unlock the screen. The machine would be logged in as a group/common user that can start all the monitoring applications. The screen could be locked immediately requiring the individual to enter a specific username/password as a second level of authentication.

The control center will be running with 8 screens which remotely run many other systems. It would take far too long to have users log-out/log-in again. There would be a significant loss in situational awareness. I've seen a similar implementation on a Tru-64 system. We're creating our current solution using RHEL 4.

Thanks,
Doug...
