KDE panel does not show program miminization

Hi all,

I have an interesting problem. I just installed mandrivia 2007 and KDE 3.5.4 and I ran into a problem. When I minimize a program the program does not go to the panel but disappeares from the screen. I have to use my middle mouse button to get the program back. The middle mouse button will only work if there is nothing opened on the desktop. Tried to configure the panel but to no avail.

What do I need to to to fix this problem. It worked fine in the previous version of KDE. Is this a new feature?

Thanks for your help.

the kde panel (kicker) contains applet for every function.
I guess that the applet 'task manager' or 'task bar' (dunno the correct English name =) ) is removed by accident.
To get it back, right click on an empty section in the panel, choose [panel menu -> add applet to panel] and look for the taskbar or task manager.
