slackware and KDE question

I have noticed some of my apps look kind of wierd in KDE. Namely, the fonts appear too big. Examples are OpenOffice, Azureus, Firefox 2, essentially, any additional software I installed requiring X. When I switch it over to XFCE, I noticed all of the same applications don't look the same. I am running slackware 11.0 and KDE 3.5.4. Is there a way to adjust the display settings of these applications, especially the font?

Thanks for any help!

RE: slackware and KDE question

You can try to change the DPI value for XOrg. When you start X, you can supply the -dpi flag in order to adjust the DPI. You can also change this in $KDEDIR/share/config/kdm/kdmrc .
